Room integrity testing is a legal requirement for any gaseous fire suppressant system, which work by releasing a gas agent into an enclosed space to either suppress oxygen levels or react with the fire to extinguish it. The enclosure needs to be able to hold the gas for about 10 minutes. By creating pressure in the room with a door fan test and measuring the pressure release period, we can determine if the room has enough “integrity” to hold the gas agent for the necessary amount of time to be effective in extinguishing a fire. 

The test takes around an hour and will block the use of the room’s door, however it need not disrupt your workers; if people are prepared to stay in the room for the duration of the test they are more than welcome to do so. It won’t affect any equipment, so your business can continue running as usual.
